Connie & William

Time to get back to updating my blog and website! Seriously!

Just a few from this weekends engagement shoot with Connie Chin and William Tsai. This was a four location engagement shoot in about 6 hours. Lots of fun! Thanks Connie and William for being such great warriors for the whole day! I’m going to start publishing my preview photos in black and white and then the finals in color when they are finished. I should be done with this set in two weeks given that their wedding is less than a month away. In the mean time, I will post up photos from the last two engagements and weddings this week. This week I’m also shooting a bridal shower and those will be up on Sunday. It’s going to a packed week so stay tuned cause I’m seriously updating my blog at least every other day. Hope you enjoy!

What Have I Been Doing?

This is what I’ve been doing in the last 3 days. I actually have another photo-shoot tomorrow that I’m really looking forward to as well. It’s been crazy but very exciting! I have over 4000 pictures I have to look through and they just keep on coming. I have at least 3 more shoots by the end of the month. Anyways I found the time to update my blog and not lag it for 2 weeks. Here’s some of the random shots that caught my eye as I browsed through the thousands of photos. First of all, Congratulations to Alex & Cindy!
Thank You Cindy and Alex for letting us a part of your special day!
This ring shot was actually extremely difficult. I ask the bride and groom for their wedding rings as everyone ready to go home seeing that they didn’t have a wedding ring shot yet. Everyone was surrounding us and taking an interest in what we were doing, just staring at us. We pulled this shot off in about a minute, Nicole and I guessed the camera settings and held a single flash strobe overhead set manually with a wild guess. A few adjustments and here’s the end product. Not bad for a product shot on a 2 x 2 foot table with horrible indoor lighting and tremendous pressure in my opinion.

One of my favorite portrait shots I’ve done. All natural lighting :] Thanks for modeling with us Gillian! Look forward to working with you again!

Stephanie was working the camera all afternoon. We managed to grab this shot as we traveled to higher ground. Thanks and great job Steph! Hope you weren’t too tired. Lets do this again!

Special Thanks to Chris Ha for letting Nicole and I borrow your 7D. Without you, these images may have not been possible!

Special Thanks to Stephanie’s Mom for the Potato Chips and Subway. We would have been starving without you!

Thank You again Cindy & Alex for letting us be a part of your special day and to especially to Ricky Ng and your family for recommending us and helping us at the event!

All these shots were also not possible without my photography partner Nicole Chow, the electrical engineer, photographer, make-up artist, hair-stylist, model and best friend. :] ❤

Miss America Photoshoot: Behind the Scenes Part 1

So remember the big surprise and the event that I had said tops anything I’ve done so far? This is it. Meet Caressa, a very beautiful young woman who is our subject in todays blogpost. She may look familiar, let me give you a hint*: Miss Virginia 2009 and now Miss America 2010, her name is Caressa Cameron and this is behind the scenes with Photographer Christian Del Rosario.

I’ve been waiting to post this, I wanted to get permission and have been busy and on vacation for the past couple of days/weeks which is why I haven’t blogged in sometime. As aforementioned, this has by far been the best experience in my photography career so far. Getting a chance to work with Christian would be any amateur photographers privilege and honor. Shooting Miss America? Icing on the cake. Being Miss America is definitely an honor, but isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Caressa had a tight schedule and would be in 3 different cities in 3 days. Wow. She didn’t seem tired and her spirits were very high, her personality is great and was definitely a great person to work with.
Christian Del Rosario is an extremely talented photographer and I had the opportunity to work with him thanks to Edwin Santiago whose work can be found on links provided to the right of my blog as well as Christian’s (Attreo Studio) who is now on my “Aspire List”. He referred Christian to do this event and I had the privilege to come aboard to assist and to learn. Since then, I’ve applied some of the things I’ve learned from him and from my standpoint my technique has improved considerably. Not only does he communicate in a professional manner, a key skill in photography, but shows confidence behind the camera and both reflect in his end results. He is skilled considerably in both studio and natural light. Christian also maximizes his camera’s potential getting the most out of it and when he takes his images to post, well, you can see for yourself. Check out his website at: http://www.attreostudio.com/

I hope you guys and gals enjoyed this post. Stay tuned for part 2 I’ll post of some of the shots I took that day. Take Care Everyone!
